President Obama announced his support for an additional $250 Economic Recovery Payment to the seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities who are struggling to make ends meet and who face no COLA for benefits in 2010. An estimated 57 million people would benefit from this proposal, including 49 million Social Security beneficiaries and 5 million SSI beneficiaries.
